Outside of features and accessories, they way to choose the correct motor for you is based on usage. A 1/2HP unit is rated to open and close the door about 5 times a day, 3/4HP is for 5-10 times a day, and 3/4HP+/1.25HP is for 10+ times a day when the garage door is being used as the main entrance for the home.
Chain vs Belt Drive
There is no major quality or reliability difference between the two. Belt drive units are inherently quieter than a chain drive unit.
Internal Battery Backup
Only comes into play when there is no power to the garage, and allows you to open/close the door around 20 times with the remote(s) and/or keypad.
